Abstract

The government’s plans for the Chinatown in Semarang city is not only to develop it as the cultural heritage, but also to explore its potential economy, so that the area will be more survive either in its cultural field or economical field. This Chinatown will be an invaluable precious treasure with its particular charm that is different from any other places. The Chinatown is an Indonesian masterpiece as what has existed and happened in this area is the result of the combination of the various cultures, such as the Chinese and Javanese ones.
