KOMPONEN DAN DAMPAK SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP UPAYA REVITALISASI BUDAYA DAN INDUSTRI KABUPATEN REMBANG

Abstract

This paper seeks to identify factors associated with successful social entrepreneurship. It focus on what are components that form the social entrepreneurship and does social entrepreneurship lead to any social transformation in social and economic contexts for poor and marginalized groups. This study applied a qualitative method in a Single Case Study design. The field research took place in Koperasi Usaha Bersama (KUB)”Srikandi Jeruk” of Jeruk Village, Pancur, Rembang under Cultural and Industrial Revitalization Project by Indonesian Pluralism Institute (IPI) for Batik Lasem Rembang. Deep interview were conducted with the President of IPI, Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with Management team of KUB, some observations and study documentary. The paper concludes that factors associate with successful social entrepreneurship are three components of the ability to: identify an unequal condition in the community, realize the opportunities and take actions to make significant changes for local community. It also concludes that Social entrepreneurship by IPI does lead to some significant changes or social transformation in the availability of quantity and quality employment, innovation, social capital accumulation and equality for poor and marginalized group of local people.
