Abstract

Self-actualization is a part of a basic human need to complete his full development in life. With the theory of Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and the qualitative method, the self-actualization of Harry Potter is found gradually in physiological, safety, love and relationship, and self-esteem.  Even though Harry gets sad condition from his uncle's family, Harry still can fulfill his physiological need by living with his family. While fulfilling his safety, love, and relationship needs, Harry is very tough and keeps his kind heart, so he always gets love from his best friends in his school. In fulfilling his need for self-esteem and self-actualization, Harry is accepted to study in a prestigious wizard school. Self-actualization is also explained in Harry's Motivation that he believes he must get his identity. This motivation leads his journey in life. In this Motivation, Harry takes his courage to be tough in facing the cruelty of his uncle's family. By the motivation to get his identity, Harry keeps his obedient character even though he struggles to protect his school from dangerous events.
