Optimalisasi Biaya Distribusi Buah Pinang Menggunakan Metode Transportasi pada CV. XYZ

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara agraris dengan hasil bumi yang berlimpah. Salah satunya adalah buah pinang yang berasal dari Pulau Sumatera. Dalam pendistribusiannya, CV. XYZ yang menjadi distributor buah pinang tersebut mengalami beberapa kendala dalam distribusi, yaitu biaya dan jarak yang tidak optimal, sehingga dibutuhkan sebuah pendekatan untuk memperoleh hasil optimal dalam kegiatan distribusi tersebut. Metode transportasi adalah suatu metode pemecahan masalah dengan tujuan untuk meminimalisir biaya pengiriman produk dari beberap sumber ke beberapa tujuan. Dua tahapan metode transportasi yang digunakan merupakan solusi awal yang terdiri dari north west cornet method dan least cost, serta solusi optimal yang terdiri atas stepping stone dan modified distribution. Berdasarkan penerapan metode yang dilaksanakan, CV. XYZ memperoleh penghematan sebesar Rp 5.765.149.
